amanda :: senior

I had so much fun with Amanda and her mom on this shoot. We had a game plan of shooting at a location that I had found earlier in the year, but that quickly changed when Amanda thought about her Grandma’s home and the setting that it offered. A 147 year old farm home with a lot of meaning and a close connection to Amanda, this is the exact type of setting that I want ALL my seniors to bring to their sessions. Senior portraits are about capturing the senior in a setting that has meaning and tells a story about the teen. These session aren’t about posing in a location chosen soley by the photographer, adding a makeup artist and slapping on a pair of high heels, it’s about highlighting this amazing time in these kids lives and doing so in a place that means something to them and shows them as they are at this pivotal point in their life. Not only was Amanda extremely happy that she thought about shooting at her Grandma’s house, but you could see the happiness on Grandma’s face as she watched the shoot take place. It was pretty awesome! Thank you for a great experience Amanda, I love our photo together:)LOL
